Offering Meditation: Three simple truths:

This week's movie, Office Space, illustrates the challenges associated with dealing with conflict (recall Milton's poor treatment and how he reacts).

Conflict

• Matt 5:23,26 - Offender is expected to make the situation right.
• Matt 18:15-20 - Victim is expected to look for reconcilliation rather than retaliation.
• Everyone must make the situation right.
• Truths
  1. Conflict is personal.
  2. Resolution is a priority.
  3. It's also a process (progression of resolution actions).
     • Go and make things right.
     • Involve witnesses so that they may observe the attempt at fixing the situation.
     • Inform the rest of the church body so that they are aware and able to help.
     • Treat the individual as a pagan or tax collector. Note: this does not mean to ``kick the person to the curb'', but rather to pray for them. It's difficult to remain mad at someone while praying for them.
