Scripture: Luke 12:13-21

The request: give me justice

• Rabbi's had legal (judicial) authority
• Requester had alreaded decided ``what was right'' and wasn't asking for direction, just agreement
• Looking to use Jesus as a club, not as a leader

The warning: be on our guard

• We can't take-in everything without consequences (food, internet content, movies, etc.)
• We don't (but should) do the same against greed

The problem: greed and overconsumption

• We must answer ``how much is enough?''
• The issue isn't productivity, it's excess
• Symptoms: storage and satisfaction

The deeper problem: not seeing our lives as on-loan from God

• fool (in the Bible): one who tries to live their life apart from God (Psalm 14:1, 10:4)

The challenge: God will call in His loans. And that can happen at any time.

A few ideas to consider:

• Apply God's word
• Practice generosity
• Pursue contentment
